Hi! I’m Sarah. I live in Avon Lake with my husband, our four kids, and two dogs. Walking is my favorite form of exercise and a cherished hobby, so in October 2021, I decided to combine that passion with my love for animals by joining the Family Pet Sitters team. Over the years, I’ve had the joy of caring for many dogs, each leaving their paw prints on my heart.

I truly love taking care of all the animals and walking with your dogs. Their unique personalities make every day fun and keep me smiling from morning to night!

Hello, I’m Abby! While my career has been in theatrical scenic design, my true lifelong passion has always been animals. I’ve had the pleasure of caring for a wide range of pets, from cats and dogs to rabbits, guinea pigs, and even horses. Currently, my pride and joy is my 16-pound black cat, Gio.

As a team member of Family Pet Sitters, my goal is to give clients the same peace of mind I’d want when I’m away from my own beloved kitty!”

FOUNDER

In 2004, after a less-than-ideal dog boarding experience, I founded Family Pet Sitters. Driven by my belief that pets are happiest at home and a deep love for all animals, I combined these values with a strong work ethic to create our family business. Some of our first clients are still with us today, now with the next generation of their pets.

In 2019, I passed the business to my talented and dedicated daughter, Leslie Kubancik, who has since doubled its size, even amidst the challenges posed by COVID-19 to many family-owned businesses.

My husband and I are now retired and spend half the year traveling, having visited over 10 countries and 42 states so far—with more to come! During the summer months, I happily return to help Family Pet Sitters as an administrative assistant and devoted pet sitter.

I’m a veteran pet sitter with a deep love for all animals. While I have a soft spot for big dogs, I enjoy spending time with the smaller pups just as much. Daily walks keep me active, and I’m grateful to do something I truly love.

My wife, Gail, and I are passionate travelers. We’ve explored over 10 countries and 42 states, and we’re always eager to see more! One of our favorite adventures was driving our RV across the country, taking in all the incredible sights along the way.

These days, we’ve settled into a routine that lets us enjoy the best of both worlds—spending winters in Florida and summers working with Family Pet Sitters, doing what we love most.

Janet joined Family Pet Sitters in 2008 and has cared for many cats and dogs throughout the years. Currently, she shares her home with a cat and her beloved Westie, Bailey.

Pet sitting has been the perfect fit for Janet as a busy mom, allowing her to balance work with being home for her family after school.

Hi!, I’m Kelly, a fellow pet lover. Over the years we have had cats, dogs, Guinea pigs, rabbits, gerbils and even aquatic frogs!Currently, my family have two cats, Sweetie Pie and Francesca, and a Labrador retriever named Honey Bun. And yes, she is as sweet as her name sounds!

The best part of caring for your pet is – everything! Their unique personalities, facial expressions and body language, play habits, cuddles and silliness make every day a delight! I’m looking forward to meeting your furry companions!

My life’s journey has always been closely tied to Cleveland. I’ve had the privilege of working with iconic organizations like Playhouse Square and the Cleveland Indians, while also staying active in various civic and professional groups. I’ve served as a board member for the Cleveland Animal Protective League and contributed to the APL Development Committee, further fueling my passion for animal welfare.

Caring for pets brings me immense joy—there’s nothing like seeing their happy faces when I arrive. It’s truly rewarding work that fills my heart every day.

Diane made the switch from the advertising industry to pet sitting, driven by her lifelong passion for animals. It was a natural fit, and she hasn’t looked back since. An avid animal lover, Diane is currently mom to two rescue cats, Cabo Wabo and DJ.

She enjoys brisk walks and treats every furry friend as if they were her own. Getting to know each pet’s unique personality makes her job fun and rewarding. Outside of pet sitting, Diane and her husband are enthusiastic Cleveland sports fans who enjoy gardening and traveling.

I reside in Avon Lake with my husband, three kids and our pup Finn. I love working with animals, they bring me great joy! I have previously owned a black lab and two cats.

Hi, my name is Mary, and I am currently a cat mom to Beazle. Over the years, I have had dogs and cats, including doxies, labs, and Goldens, and I have volunteered at rescues in Parma and Avon Lake.

I have recently retired and wanted to use my new availability caring for pets. Family Pet Sitters provided the opportunity, and I have found a fun and satisfying new role!

When I’m not taking care of your pets, I’m busy taking care of mine. With help from my husband and two kids, we are busy caring for a dog, cat and rabbit.

NOELLE

Noelle is a former nurse who has moved across the country several times during her husband’s military career. After 31 years of service, they are thrilled to be close to family, plant roots and call Avon their home. She and her husband have one daughter, and seven rescued fur children, which include a golden retriever and six cats!

As a former cat and kitten foster, and animal rescue volunteer, Noelle has finally found a balance of caring for animals without tugging on every heartstring and begging her husband to adopt them all. That balance is caring for pets who have loving homes.

Hi, I am a lifetime avid dog and cat lover. We have always had multiple dogs and cats, and I enjoy their unique personalities. I graduated from OU and am still a Buckeye fan. As the spouse of the owner, I work nights, weekends, and anywhere I am needed. I love meeting all the new dogs and enjoy spending time outdoors walking and playing.

After a career in higher education and 18 years volunteering in greyhound rescue and adoption, I’ve turned my full attention to pet sitting, which I have been doing part time for about 15 years.  I have had dogs, cats and horses all my life and delight in meeting new furry friends.  I live in Olmsted Falls with my husband and my retired racing greyhound, Layla. I also raise Monarch Butterflies in my garden each year.  Caring for animals, large and small, and helping them grow is my passion.
